PRETTY PEONIES
My favorite part about a Bride shoot is the leftover flowers. (Also, the leftover cupcakes).

Art Director Jessica “J.D.” Decker lives just outside — or, rather, inside — Detroit, Michigan, in a glamorous, clamorous, amorous apartment on a street rife with broken glass and feral kittens. There, she and her partner-in-crime, a Chow-pei named Mooshoo, antagonize their neighbors with endless hours of bike ridin’, cross-stitchin’, high-fivin’, and owl collectin’. And they can sew like nobody’s business.
J.D. is inspired by vintage fabric, hand-drawn type, cute animals, and fancy faux bois. She’s especially fond of bright hues and old-school signage. (Mooshoo, on the other hand, is only inspired when it’s time for a walk.)
When she’s not wreakin’ Hamtramck havoc with her dastardly dog, J.D can often be found cuttin’ up paper or just drawin’ stuff. Mooshoo, meanwhile, prefers collectin’ bikes and bakin’ Milk-Bone cupcakes.
J.D.'s portfolio can be found at jdmakesthings.com. If you’d like to collaborate with J.D., hire her for freelance work, inquire about a custom giant cross-stitch, or just sing a karaoke duet, drop her a line at jdmakesthings@me.com
